One month ago, galaxyMafia asked the question, Anybody Seen Cupid? in response, or in retaliation to the great, big, overblown, flatulent pity parade that is Valentine’s Day.

Alas, that fated day is now here, and galaxyMafia is still wondering, Anybody Seen Cupid? If you’ll recall (and don’t worry if you don’t, just go back and read the post if you’re interested or bored or want to kill some time when your lazy azz should be working), galaxyMafia, on that heralded day, decided to embark upon the GREAT VALENTINE’S DAY CHALLENGE. She would give herself one month to find a half-decent, attractive, tall (over 6”) man to buy her some fried oysters at Kemah.

So, you ask. . .did she do it? Did she win the challenge, did she find herself a man? Or did she give Cupid the finger and tell the good folks down at Valentine’s Day Inc. to bugger off. . .?

Well. . .the answer is somewhat complicated. Not complicated like quantum physics, complicated like Sione Lauaki. Thing is, galaxyMafia sort of forgot about her challenge, what with her boring job, the feverish revisions of her novel, the new podcast and other trivial matters of no consequence. When she wrote that blog entry, she actually was between computers, not having one of her own, having to use her sister’s high-falutin’ top-of-the-line model because her trusty HP decided to kick the bucket and go to Laptop Heaven. Much of her time after that post was spent tearing her clothes as she searched for a new computer, and getting back on the Internet in time to download Super 14 games was all she pretty much thought about. Really, she had no time to think about men (Tom at work notwithstanding) and came to realize that a gal can do without a man; what she really needs is Microsoft Word and DSL.

galaxyMafia was starting to think she would fail her challenge, and really, she didn’t much care.

Then January 26 came skipping along, and she received the following message from an old friend, a lusty Frenchman she’d met during an “8 Minute Dating” event way back in 2003. We’ll call this Frenchman, La Grenouille.

Well. . .there you have it.

Not exactly a date for Valentine’s Day BUT maybe a lunch date for this coming Friday with a lusty Frenchman who wants to make galaxyMafia come with his fingers. So, now the question is, will galaxyMafia actually show up for this lunch date? Or will she be too busy revising the novel? If she does go, will she get fried oysters? Will she meet the new Kraut roommate? Will she let the Frenchman put his fingers. . .nah, that’s not going to happen.

Anyhoo, galaxyMafia is not sure what will happen but, bien sur, she will let ya know, yo!
